Pedestrian dies in Aurora crash on Colfax
A man was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing an intersection along Colfax Avenue on Saturday night, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Aurora police officers responded to the crash at around 10:57 p.m. at East Colfax Avenue and Peoria Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a 43-year-old man struck by a vehicle. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died, according to police.
Police said the man was walking westbound on Colfax Avenue through the intersection before a white Ford SUV struck him. The SUV struck the pedestrian while traveling southbound through a green light on Peoria Street.
The driver remained on-scene following the crash, police said.
Authorities noted speed and alcohol were not factors.
Scene reconstruction and the crash investigation remain ongoing.
