Denver police search for suspect in deadly hit-and-run crash on Kalamath Street
Denver police are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian on Friday night.
At around 7:42 p.m., a motorist was driving southbound on North Kalamath Street at West 11th Avenue. The driver, in a Gray Honda Accord Crosstour, struck a pedestrian who was crossing Kalamath, according to a Denver Police Department crime alert bulletin.
The crash resulted in injuries that led to the pedestrian’s death, police said.
Police noted the driver left the scene of the crash without stopping or leaving information.
Police said the suspect’s vehicle might have sustained major damage on the front passengers side bumper and headlight.
The hit-and-run on Kalamath Street marked the second incident of its kind last week.
One pedestrian was struck and killed in the final hour of 2025 on Wednesday. That driver also fled the scene. The New Year’s Eve hit-and-run crash happened at around 11:05 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Federal Boulevard.
The suspect’s vehicle in that crash was driving south when it hit the pedestrian as they crossed Federal Boulevard.
Authorities ask anyone with information on any of the crashes to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can report anonymously and receive an award up to $2,000.
