Denver Public Library’s new audiobook listening group takes walks at city parks
Listen up, audiobook fans. Your time has come.
Denver Public Library announced an audiobook listening and walking group Thursday.
It’s called Audionauts, and it meets quarterly at parks around the city.
The group’s first meetup is at Sloan’s Lake from 10-11 a.m. Jan. 18.
“Whether you’re chasing mysteries, wandering through fantasy realms, or laughing at witty banter, Audionauts turns your walk into a voyage,” DPL said on the event’s registration page.
Bring walking shoes, headphones and an audiobook “that makes your heart skip,” the library said. Pets are also encouraged to tag along.
Registration for the event is required. More than 200 spots are still available as of Friday afternoon.
Audionauts is one of several new DPL initiatives focused on building community through books.
Last year, the library launched a silent reading club and relaunched the citywide reading program One Book One Denver.
Throughout January and February, DPL is celebrating “Winter of Reading,” and Denverites are invited to try 24 activities that “explore books, audiobooks, films, and library services while reconnecting with reading for joy.”
