Man found dead with gunshot wounds at Denver area park
According to the Westminster Police Department, a man in his 20s was found dead in the parking lot of Wolff Run Park on the morning of January 10.
Officers responded to the scene for a welfare check after a man was reportedly seen lying face down in the lot. The man was discovered to have several visible gunshot wounds and was deceased.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots around 2 a.m. before spotting a dark-colored, newer model sedan leaving the park. No one called police at that time.
Those in the area have been asked to check surveillance footage from the night of January 9 into the early morning hours of January 10 to see if any images may provide clues that help the investigation. It appears as if this was an isolated incident and one that does not pose an immediate threat to public safety.
Wolff Run Park is located in Westminster between W. 78th and W. 76th avenues, bordered by Stuart Street to the east and Sheridan Boulevard to the west.
Anyone with information that may be related to the case should call 303-658-4360.
