Kiz: Seaton is the face of a sport that’s broken. A guy the Buffs naively called “The Franchise” was seen grinning while wearing a Colorado uniform in November, as he proudly held the Buffalo Heart Award. But on Friday, Seaton could be found sending a message on X, informing the college football world that his uncle was in charge of vetting bidders for his blocking services. While Deion Sanders tells recruits he’s not hard to find, CU players evidently find him easy to leave.

When Coach Prime first arrived in Boulder, his name was enough to attract players. Now he can attract talent mostly based on how much money CU can offer players.

Kiz: If money is all that really matters, is it really college football anymore? Or should we end the charade and call it Junior Pro? What is college really teaching football players now, except how to be mercenaries? This sport needs a salary cap, binding contracts and a commissioner with a staff that can restore some order, because the NCAA has forfeited its authority to act in the game’s best interest.

Maybe Deion Sanders needs to develop a legit coaching staff instead of a retirement lounge for his NFL buddies.

Kiz: If Prime wants to bring in a whole new roster and a revamped coaching staff every year, that’s his business. Nobody asked me, but that’s a dangerous way to conduct football business. Where’s the loyalty when the going gets tough? Nowhere, except to the guy in the mirror. Slapdash is no way to build sustained success.

With confidence that center Nikola Jokic is going to come back good as new from a knee injury, the oddsmakers also say only Oklahoma City is more likely to win the NBA championship. So you gotta like the chances for our tenants of Ball Arena. But don’t fire up the fire trucks for those parades quite yet. Although the Avs are prohibitive betting favorites, the odds imply they have a 27% chance of winning it all. And for the Nuggets, it’s 12.5%. Let those sobering numbers serve as a cautionary reminder that the grind of best-of-seven playoff series ain’t no joke.
