Regis Jesuit’s Jane Rumpf wins Mountain West player of the week for Wyoming | Colorado Sunshine

Where good news shines

The Mountain West is learning what Colorado already knew.

Jane Rumpf can ball.

A 6-foot-2 forward from Regis Jesuit, Rumpf on Monday was named Mountain West freshman of the week after helping the Cowgirls (7-12 overall, 4-6 league) to a home-and-home sweep of Utah State. She averaged 12.5 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks while shooting 52.9% from the field.

Rumpf led Regis to a Class 6A runner-up and Elite Eight as a high school star.

Wyoming hosts Fresno State at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (Mountain West Network).
