SATURDAY-SUNDAY

One of the top indoor motorcycle events in the country and it’s right here at the National Western Complex, and yes, the Stock Show livestock and rodeo cowboys have departed. Now it’s the hogs at Colorado Motorcycle Expo, 48th annual, focused on “riders, builders, collectors, vendors and fans from across the nation.” See more than 100 custom, classic and antique motorcycles compete, an Iron Goddess All-Female Motorcycle Show for builders, and a Used Bike Corral. Watch the Harley Stunt Show and rock out to Battle of the Bands. Admission $25 Saturday, $20 Sunday, 12 and under free, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Considering those long lines at coin shops now as people buy and sell gold and silver, the Denver Coin Club Show will be a popular and maybe profitable way to spend a day. This is the first of numerous coin and heavy metals expos around the state during the year and vendors will be buying, selling and trading. THURSDAY-FEB. 3

Skilled teams from around the world are in Breckenridge for the famous International Snow Sculpture Championships, through Feb. 3. For five days they have created spectacular art by hand out of 25-ton blocks of snow. Power tools not permitted. See amazing finished projects as they are judged this weekend. Thinking about hitting the road? See what’s new at The Ultimate RV Show this weekend at Colorado Convention Center: “300+ fully staged RVs, from compact, lightweight travel trailers to fifth wheels, toy haulers, motorhomes, and more.” Manufacturers’ representatives, Camping World displays, a Kids Zone and pre-owned selections. In case you have some of that heavy-duty fruitcake left over from the holidays or maybe baked a new one, head down Manitou Springs way Saturday, noon to 3 p.m. for the Great Manitou Fruitcake Toss. The decadent, danceable and tragic Jazz Age brought to life in “The Great Gatsby” by writer F. Scott Fitzgerald and published 101 years ago, comes to the stage in a full-glamour Colorado Ballet at Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Various dates through Feb. 8. It’s that era and a tear-jerking love story all together. Fitzgerald died without ever knowing how accepted and iconic his novel would become. tickets-center.com
