Denver weather: Warm Monday before chance for snow Tuesday
Warm temperatures are on tap for Denver again Monday before a chance for light snow moves into the forecast on Tuesday, meteorologists said.
The National Weather Service in Boulder said to expect a cloudy start in Denver on Monday, gradually becoming sunnier in the afternoon.
Meteorologists said the high in Denver on Monday is expected to reach 56 degrees. That’s about 12 degrees warmer than average for Groundhog’s Day in Denver, according to weather service data, but a bit cooler than the unseasonably warm temperatures the city experienced Sunday.
The record high for Feb. 2 in Denver is 74 degrees, last reached in 2020, weather service records show.
A chance for a dusting of snow moves into the forecast Tuesday, meteorologists said.
“A weak front late Tuesday will bring an opportunity for very light snow to most areas,” the weather service said in a post on X. “The best chance of light accumulations will be for the mountains and Palmer Divide.”
Accumulations in the Denver area range from trace amounts up to 0.4 of an inch out at Denver International Airport, the weather service said.
