The new-look Mountain West’s broadcasts will be found by looking in the same familiar spots.

The conference announced its new media rights agreements Tuesday, with longstanding partners CBS Sports and Fox Sports reupping in deals that will run for six years through the 2031-32 season. The agreement adds the CW Network (for five years) and Kiswe into the conference’s media rights portfolio.

Mountain West commissioner Gloria Nevarez called the media distribution plan the longest in the history of the conference that began in 2000 and is about to undergo a major membership shakeup.

“Aligning with three nationally recognized broadcast media partners and marquee streaming platforms powered by Kiswe’s expertise ensures that our student-athletes showcase their athletic excellence, academic achievements, personal stories, and the pride they bring to their universities,” Nevarez said in a statement.

Financial terms of the deal were not released.

Collectively, the three television partners will broadcast more than 150 live events each year.

This marks the first media rights agreement for the conference since five members –- Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah State –- announced they would be leaving this summer to join the Pac-12. Air Force, Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State, UNLV and Wyoming are the holdover members of the conference that is transitioning its offices from Colorado Springs to Las Vegas. Hawaii and UTEP will join as full members, Northern Illinois will come aboard as a football-only member and Grand Canyon University and UC Davis will join in multiple sports, including basketball.

A major difference in the new deal, from the consumer standpoint, will be the streaming component. The conference will abandon its free app and go to a subscription model facilitated by Kiswe.

“Moving to a subscription model allows us to reinvest in smarter technology, richer content, and a more personalized experience for every user,” Nevarez said. “It comes with built‑in, unlimited revenue upside. Institutions gain the ability to generate, expand, and control new earning potential without ceiling constraints, aligning growth directly with engagement.”

As opposed to collecting revenue from an equally shared pool, the MW App will reward schools that draw more activity. A Mountain West spokesman told The Gazette that the discussion around the app is that the more subscribers a school has, the more revenue it can bring into the campus.

CBS Sports

* CBS Sports Network will feature 15 football games, with at least one game broadcast annually on CBS and streamed on Paramount+

* 18 Mountain West men’s basketball games will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network, which will also continue to broadcast the MW men’s basketball tournament quarterfinals, and semifinals. CBS will continue to carry the MW Men’s Basketball Championship Game.

* Two women’s basketball games will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network in addition to the MW Women’s Basketball Championship Game.

Fox Sports

– Fox retains exclusive rights to the Mountain West Football Championship Game and will feature 12 football games annually on Fox, FS1 and FS2.

– 20 men’s basketball games are slated for Fox, FS1, and FS2.

The CW

– The network will debut its coverage of the conference in 2026-27 with an annual package of 13 football games, 20 men’s basketball games, and 15 women’s basketball games.
