Angi Inc. lays off 350 workers, though only a small portion of Denver HQ hit

A major company based in Denver laid off about 350 workers last month, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Angi Inc. announced it cut its global staff to save on operating costs and optimize its organization “in light of AI-driven efficiency improvements,” the filing said. Angi Inc., an online platform that connects homeowners to contractors, is headquartered in the River North Arts District on Walnut Street.

The layoffs affected a small portion of the company’s Denver office, a company spokesperson told The Denver Gazette on Friday, though the company did not specify how many people were laid off.

“While these changes are never easy, it is an important step in accomplishing our mission and positioning our company for growth,” the spokesperson said. “We thank our colleagues for their valued contributions and we remain committed to our Denver presence and team.”

Angi Inc. estimated the layoffs will save the company between $70 million and $80 million, the filing said.
