Denver taps Jonathan Norloff as new county assessor
Denver named Jonathan Norloff as its new county assessor, according to a statement Thursday by the Department of Finance.
Norloff, who has been with the Assessor’s Office since 2012, has served as deputy county assessor since 2024.
He replaces former County Assessor Keith Erffmeyer, who is the new property tax administrator for the state of Colorado.
“We are thrilled to promote Jonathan Norloff to the role of county assessor,” Denver Chief Financial Officer Nicole Doheny said in the release. “His expertise and experience make him an invaluable asset to our team, and through his time with the city, he has earned broad respect and support among our staff and partners.”
In his new position, Norloff will oversee the Assessor’s Office, which locates, identifies, and appraises all real and personal property within Denver to ensure fair tax distribution, in accordance with the Colorado Constitution, state statutes, and Board of Equalization procedures.
“Anyone who had the pleasure of working with my predecessor Keith Erffmeyer knows that, both figuratively and literally, I have some big shoes to fill,” Norloff said in the release. “I’m honored and incredibly excited to step into this new role. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside this remarkable team for over a decade and couldn’t be more thankful for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Together, I’m confident we will continue to deliver our best to those we serve.”
Norloff holds professional ad valorem appraiser licensures as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with concentrations in management and finance, from McPherson College.
He assumes his new role on Feb. 22.
