Ikon Pass has a new chief customer executive

Alterra Mountain Co. has a new chief customer officer and president of the Ikon Pass, the Denver-based ski resort company announced last week.

The company hired David Flueck to run its customer engagement, sales and marketing strategy. Flueck is from Boulder and was previously Marriott International’s global officer of loyalty, cards, and new businesses, where he led the creation of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program.

“David is a world-class travel and hospitality executive whose extensive experience will help guide the next phase of Alterra Mountain Company’s development,” said Jared Smith, president & CEO of Alterra Mountain Co. in a news release.

At Alterra, Flueck will be responsible for growing the ski resort company’s Ikon Pass and expanding its “potential as a gateway to year-round adventures.” Ikon Pass covers several Colorado destinations such as Aspen Snowmass, Steamboat, Winter Park, Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin.

“I look forward to helping shape the future of mountain adventure, and building rewarding and extraordinary experiences that inspire and connect guests to our remarkable destinations,” Flueck said.

Developing company names new Denver office market lead

Trammell Crow Co., a real estate investing firm, announced it hired Megan Kranichfeld as its new market lead for its Denver office.

Kranichfeld will be responsible for the office’s day-to-day operations and overseeing new developments for the Rocky Mountain region. She joined the company in 2023 to help lead industrial developments in Colorado and has helped the Denver office create a speculative pipeline totaling more than 2 million square feet and 4 million square feet of fee development, the company said.

She will report to the company’s Western Division President Cathy Thuringer.

“Megan’s advancement through the TCC organization is a direct result of her strategic vision, relentless drive, and ability to inspire her team to achieve ambitious goals,” Thuringer said in a press release. “We are confident in Megan’s ability to lead our growing business in Colorado, and we look forward to the impact she will have in shaping our future in the region.”

TCC has worked on several projects in the region, including the Denver Water Operations Complex, Riverview at 1700 Platte and Denver Union Station. It’s also working to develop Fox Park, a 41-acre mixed use community in the Globeville neighborhood.

Before joining Xcel, Cain worked at consulting firm McKinsey & Co. leading the company’s technology division within the North America consumer and retail practice for seven years.
