Man sentenced to 42 years for second-degree murder
A man received a 42-year sentence for second degree murder, according to Denver’s district attorney.
Ernest Cunningham was convicted of second-degree murder last year after shooting and killing 23-year-old Kelsey Roberts in June 2024, authorities said, adding he had intended to confront Roberts’ husband.
“Kelsey Roberts was a young woman with her whole life ahead of her who would be with us today were it not for Ernest Cunningham. Today’s sentence ensures that Cunningham will pay a heavy price for his horrific actions,” said District Attorney John Walsh.
