Adams County Detention Facility nurse charged with giving weed to inmate
A former contract nurse who worked in the Adams County Detention Facility was charged Friday with allegedly giving an inmate synthetic marijuana.
Stephanie Bagwell, 52, was charged with introducing contraband to the second degree for allegedly introducing synthetic cannabinoids into the facility between Feb. 16 and March 3, according to news releases from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
While investigating a report into her activity, investigators found that Bagwell allegedly provided cannabinoid-soaked paper to an inmate while in the facility’s secure area, according to the releases. She was arrested Tuesday night and formally charged Friday.
Bagwell had been working at the facility as a temporary nurse through a contract provider, and no longer has access to the secured areas, according to the release. She will next appear in Adams County court at 8:45 a.m. on April 24, in Division 6.
