‘Sex and the City’ star to give commencement address at CU Boulder

The Boulder native was selected by the university’s Senior Class Council to give the speech.

BOULDER, Colo. — “Sex and the City” star Kristin Davis will give the commencement address at the University of Colorado Boulder this spring, the university announced Friday

The actor best known for portraying Charlotte York on the popular HBO series and its revival “And Just Like that…” was born in Boulder. Her father was a CU psychology professor and her mother was a student there. 

“I’m honored to return to Boulder, where I was born, to help celebrate CU Boulder’s 150th year and to join graduates at such a meaningful moment in their lives,” Davis said in a statement. “Commencement is about reflection, possibility and the courage to take the next step, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share that moment with the Class of 2026.”

Davis’ film credits include “Couples Retreat,” “Deck the Halls,” and “The Shaggy Dog.” She starred on the hit series “Melrose Place” and made guest appearances on TV shows including “Seinfeld,” “Will & Grace,” “Friends,” “ER,” and “The Larry Sanders Show.”
