Wolf dies in northwest Colorado

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has announced that a wolf died on March 11 in northwest Colorado.

According to a press release from CPW, the agency received a mortality signal on March 11 in northwest Colorado for gray wolf 2310, the maternal member of the King Mountain pack.

CPW will be leading the mortality investigation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. CPW said that a final determination of the cause of death will not be made until the investigation is completed. This will include the necropsy, which CPW said is a foundational component of the overall investigation process.

CPW did not release any additional details at this time.
