Denver breaks multiple heat records
Denver broke another heat record on Friday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Denver International Airport recorded a temperature of 84 degrees on Friday afternoon. This broke the previous record of 80 degrees in 1907, setting a new daily record for March 20.
This comes a day after the Mile High City broke its all-time March record high. Denver International Airport recorded a temperature of 85 degrees on Thursday, March 19. The previous record was 84 degrees and set on March 26, 1971.
According to the NWS, temperatures are set to soar into the upper 80s and lower 90s across Colorado’s plains and Interstate 25 corridor today. High country communities will see temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
The NWS also said that Colorado can expect its hottest March day on record today, with many locations expected to break more March temperature records.
