Popular Colorado tubing hill closes early – but winter fun at spot is set to continue
Popular Summit County destination Frisco Adventure Park has ended their tubing season early amid warm temperatures and rapidly-changing snow conditions.
While the tubing schedule featured on the Frisco Adventure Park website shows that the season’s run was planned to end on April 5, March 22 ended up being their last day of operations.
The winter fun isn’t quite over at Frisco Adventure Park though – starting on March 25, the spot will be transitioning to offer lift-served sledding through April 5 (March 25 through March 30, April 2nd through April 5). Tickets for a two-hour session can be purchased for $20. Sled rentals are also available for $10.
Anyone who had purchased a tubing reservation for March 23 or later can reach out directly to Frisco Adventure Park to learn about options.
Frisco Adventure Park isn’t the only local spot that’s been impacted by a warmer winter. Last month, Silverthorne’s North Pond Park was forced to close its ice skating early due to unsafe conditions not allowing for proper maintenance.
While Summit County ski areas including Breckenridge, Keystone Copper, and Arapahoe Basin remain open as of March 23, some places around the state have already closed for the season or have moved up their closing date amid poor snow conditions. Ski Cooper is one spot that’s already closed, with their season ending on March 22.
