Colorado Mesa women clash with Indiana (Pa.) in NCAA Division II Final Four
The Colorado Mesa women’s basketball team is on a historic run.
That run can be extended Thursday.
The No. 3 seed Mavericks, who have won 34 straight games and are 37-1 overall, will face off with No. 2 Indiana University (Pa.) in the NCAA Division II national semifinals in Pittsburgh. The game tips off at 4 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN+.
On Tuesday, Colorado Mesa defeated Minnesota Duluth 81-59 to advance to its first Final Four. This is the Mavericks’ 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. They are the first RMAC team to make the Final Four since 2010, when Fort Lewis lost in the title game.
Olivia Reed Thyne continued her dynamic season as she posted a double-double for the 23rd time this season and 66th time in her career when she finished with 35 points and 15 rebounds Tuesday. Reed Thyne has six consecutive double-doubles and has scored over 30 points in five of Colorado Mesa’s seven postseason victories while scoring 20 or more in all seven.
Reed Thyne now leads NCAA Division II in both points and rebounds this season.
