Denver Weather: Temperatures near the 90s as Colorado continues to break records
The Denver area is continuing to shatter temperature records this March.
The National Weather Service in Boulder said to expect sunny skies with a high of 88 degrees in Denver on Wednesday. That’s thirteen degrees hotter than the previous record for March 25 of 75 degrees, set in 2012.
That’s 30 degrees higher than the historical average for March, and Wednesday may be the hottest March day in history, breaking the record set just last week, according to the weather service.
Forecasters also warn of “near-critical” fire weather conditions for Wednesday due to the heat and winds of up to 21 mph.
Due to the unusually high heat in just the first few days of spring, the National Weather Service is warning residents to stay hydrated and wear light clothing when outdoors. Those spending substantial time outside should also consider sun protection due to a high UV Index.
