Denver Weather: Red Flag Warning and hot temperatures Monday, with possible snow later this week

Another hot and sunny day in the Denver Metro area, but high temperatures aren’t expected to last long this week.

Monday is looking partly sunny, but temperatures will remain warm, with highs reaching 81 degrees and a Red Flag Warning according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

That’s only 1 degree cooler than the average high for March 30 in Denver, according to weather service archive data. The record high for this date was 82 degrees, set only 16 years ago in 2010.

“Continued warm and dry today with increasing west winds leading to critical fire weather conditions,” said the National Weather Service in Boulder on X. “Rapid fire spread possible with any new starts. Avoid any outdoor activity that can create a spark!”

Clouds begin moving in tonight, and temperatures will cool off, dipping to 45 degrees, which will bring some gusty winds with it along the Front Range, according to forecasters.

Things will continue to cool off throughout the week, with possible showers late in the day on Tuesday and highs reaching 58 degrees, according to the weather service, a significant change from the summer-like weather pattern we have been seeing.

By Wednesday we are expected to see possible light rain and snowstorms before things heat up again at the end of the week, but we may see more storms heading into the weekend, according to forecasters.
