Denver weather: Cooler temperatures and possible precipitation
After weeks of breaking temperature records, Colorado seems to have finally settled into spring. Of course, a Colorado spring will always have us guessing what’s next.
The National Weather Service said to expect a high near 61 with a chance of showers after 3 p.m. Winds are expected to be breezy with gusts of up to 25 mph.
The cooler temperatures and potential precipitation are due to passing Pacific weather systems and will bring erratic weather patterns to the state throughout the week, according to the weather service.
The moisture in the late afternoon will continue to pick up its chances into late Wednesday afternoon.
Snow is expected in the mountains and will only get more likely as the evening goes on.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 6pm Tuesday to 9pm Wednesday for the northern Colorado mountains above 9000 feet. Snow accumulations of 2 to 10 inches are expected and winds gusting up to 50 mph. Slick travel is possible! pic.twitter.com/3lfgET1jfT

“6 to 12 inches of snow is expected over the western CO mountains where Winter Weather Advisories are in effect,” said the National Weather Service.
Tonight, expect a cloudy, chilly evening with a low of around 39 degrees. Chances of showers bump up to 30 percent.
Wednesday will bring more moisture before a brief warm-up on Thursday. Forecasters predict a good chance of snow/rain showers on Friday in Denver and the plains. Colorado’s mountains are expected to get even more snow on Friday as well.
