One person was killed in a shooting, Denver police said Thursday.

Denver Police Department officials said they are investigating a shooting that took place in the 10100 block of East Virginia Avenue. One victim was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead, the department said in a news release.

Investigators are working to develop a suspect profile. Anyone with information on the killing is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867 or submit a tip online.

Police did not identify the person killed, nor provide more information about a possible suspect.
