Suspect escaped into woods after allegedly assaulting lifty at Colorado resort
A suspect in an alleged ski resort assault was able to evade capture, according to a report from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
In recent days, deputies were called to Keystone Resort after an altercation between guests escalated, leading to one of the guests pushing a lift operator. After the push, the suspect reportedly fled into a nearby wooded area. While a search for the suspect took place, the suspect was not found.
According to the sheriff’s office, the lifty that was involved opted not to participate in prosecution and reported no injuries in the incident.
This seems to be another example of tempers running high as Colorado’s dismal ski season comes to a close. In another case that unfolded on the slopes in Aspen in mid-March, a snowboarder reportedly kicked an employee while the employee was attempting to remove the guest’s snowboard to prevent escape following a reported collision on the mountain. In video from the scene, the guest then appears to throw a speaker that was at the lift, with Unofficial Networks reporting that Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office personnel handcuffed the man at the base of Aspen Mountain and escorted him off the premises following the altercation.
