Motorcyclist dead in crash with vehicle in Aurora Monday night

A motorcyclist died after a crash with another vehicle in Aurora Monday night, Aurora Police said.

Multiple callers reported that a motorcycle and vehicle collided at the intersection of East Hampden Avenue and South Espana Way just after 8:40 p.m. Monday, with the crash throwing the motorcyclist from their bike and into the roadway, the Aurora Police Department said in a news release.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene, the department said. The driver of the other vehicle is cooperating with the investigation, which remains ongoing.

The crash closed the westbound lanes of South Genoa Street to South Ceylon Street, the department said. As of this article’s publishing, the roads have yet to be reopened and there is no estimated time when they will be.
