Ball Arena will host NBA and NHL playoff watch parties.

Chopper Circle between Ninth Street and 11th Street will be closed for all Avalanche and Nuggets games and instead be used for fan zones and live game broadcast viewing areas, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment said Monday.

KSE is calling the shared footprint “Base Camp 5280 Fan Zone” for Nuggets games and “Avs Alley” for Avalanche games. Included in the festivities are DJs, food trucks and game broadcasts on a 20-foot video board. Mascots and dance teams are scheduled to be present.

The areas will open two hours prior to tipoffs and puck drops. The Nuggets open their first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The remainder of the series schedule has not been announced. The Avalanche are waiting to learn their first-round opponent and series schedule.

Admission to the outdoor viewing parties is free for Rounds 1 and 2.
