Woman in critical condition after near-drowning at popular Colorado Springs lake

Rescuers responded to Colorado Springs’ popular Quail Lake on the southern side of town on Tuesday after a woman went underwater and failed to resurface on her own.

According to a report from the Gazette, witnesses had seen the woman pacing on the dock prior to entering the water. When first responders got to the scene around 11:20 a.m., they saw bubbles rising out of the water in the area where witnesses had indicated the woman entered. Rescuers pulled the woman out of the water with the woman then taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Details about this incident are limited at this time. Additional information may be released in days to come.
