Colorado’s Primary Election is approximately 60 days away. Denver Clerk and Recorder Paul López announced that ballots will be mailed and drop boxes will open June 8.

This is also the deadline to make party affiliation changes.

Mulch and compost giveaway May 2

Missing that Christmas tree you dropped off at the Treecycle program earlier this year? No worries. It’s ready to come back to your home this spring in the form of free mulch at the city’s annual mulch and compost giveaway.

Mulch is available to Denver residents on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration required.

Denver residents interested in compost may register for a compost coupon to receive five free gallons of finished compost during the May 2 compost and mulch giveaway event.

Both events will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2 at the Central Platte Campus, 1271 W. Bayaud Ave., near the intersection of West Bayaud Avenue and South Navajo Street.

A limited number of compost coupons are available, and registration is required.

No coupons will be distributed onsite.
