Fatal motorcycle crashes occur overnight in Englewood, Aurora
Police are investigating two overnight motorcycle fatalities in Aurora and Englewood.
At approximately 12:04 a.m. Sunday, officers of the Englewood Police Department responded to the area of 1900 W Dartmouth Ave., according to a social media post.
Officers discovered a motorcycle rider who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined the motorcycle collided with a vehicle turning onto Dartmouth Ave. The driver of the vehicle was cited for careless driving resulting in death, according to the department. The department is continuing to investigate.
In Aurora, police responded to a crash that closed East Mississippi Ave. and South Moline St.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. Saturday, according to a social media post.
The motorcycle rider, an adult male, was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries according to authorities.
At this time authorities do not suspect speed or intoxication were contributing factors to the death.
The intersection has since been reopened.
