The wait to be on the clock is almost over for Denver.

The first round of the NFL draft concluded Thursday night in Pittsburgh with the Broncos not making a pick. Denver previously traded its No. 30 overall selection to the Dolphins in a trade to acquire wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

The Broncos have one selection — No. 62 overall — entering Day 2 of the draft on Thursday. Denver, barring any trades, has seven total picks: second round (62 overall), fourth (108), fourth (111), fifth (170), seventh (246), seventh (256) and seventh (257).

Here is a breakdown of the top 10 draft prospects still available for the Broncos’ consideration:

Eli Stowers, TE, Vanderbilt

The Broncos missed on several recent tight recent end draft picks like Troy Fumagalli (2018), Albert Okwuegbunam (2020) and Greg Dulcich (2022). Quarterback Bo Nix is missing a dynamic playmaker at the position. Stowers would be an excellent fit with the size (6-foot-4, 239 pounds), athleticism and skillset that projects well at the next level. He’s the reigning Mackey Award winner who dominated the SEC with 1,407 yards receiving and nine touchdowns over his last two seasons.

Mike Washington, RB, Arkansas

The Broncos have a strong combination in 2026 with J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey sharing the load. But the team is thin on quality depth at running back. Washington took a long journey in college from Buffalo to New Mexico State and Arkansas. He finished strong with 1,070 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. He was super efficient, averaging 6.4 yards per carry. Washington is a true power runner at 6-1, 223 pounds.

Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech

The Broncos are in flux at inside linebacker. Dre Greenlaw is gone after one season in Denver. Coach Sean Payton said outside linebacker Jonah Elliss is moving to play inside. Rodriguez has all the tools to be an instant-impact rookie in the right system. He could easily develop behind Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad to become an eventual starter. Rodriguez led the FBS last season with seven forced fumbles. He also won several national awards.

D’Angelo Ponds, CB, Indiana

The Broncos return their starting trio of cornerbacks — Pat Surtain, Riley Moss and Ja’Quan McMillian — after taking cornerback Jahdae Barron at No. 20 overall in the draft last year. But Moss struggled with drawing defensive pass interference penalties. That could prompt Denver to look at Ponds. He plays much bigger than his 5-8 frame suggests. Ponds is a physical outside cornerback capable of playing inside. He logged 10 pass breakups last year.

A.J. Haulcy, S, LSU

The Broncos let safety P.J. Locke walk in free agency. There is strong depth on special teams with JL Skinner and Devon Key. But expect Denver to bolster the position at some point in the draft. Haulcy is a ballhawk and enforcer who thrives in coverage and against the run. He logged 12 pass breakups and eight interceptions over his last two seasons split between Houston and LSU. Haulcy would provide excellent depth in the secondary.

Christen Miller, DT, Georgia

The Broncos said goodbye to defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers after he signed a $63 million contract with the Titans. Denver returns promising young players on the interior like Eyioma Uwazurike and Jordan Jackson. Miller would be another prospect with high upside to develop into a dominant run stuffer at the next level. Miller is especially stout at 6-3, 321 pounds, and could learn a ton from starting nose tackle D.J. Jones.

Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern

The Broncos also need to develop future offensive tackles with their starters — Mike McGlinchey and Garett Bolles — both in their 30s. Tiernan is considered a guard by some despite his towering frame at 6-7, 323 pounds. But he has the time to develop on the outside in Denver. Tiernan played both tackle spots at Northwestern and brings leadership as well being a former team captain. He’s the ultimate project player for the Broncos.

CJ Allen, LB, Georgia

The Broncos should consider multiple linebackers in the draft. Allen projects as a future NFL starter. He racked in the honors last season as a first-team All-American and finalist of the Butkus Award. Allen led Georgia with 88 tackles (eight for loss) plus four pass breakups, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Allen has natural leadership skills that the Broncos covet as a former team captain in college, too.

Emmanuel Pregnon, G, Oregon

The Broncos have stability at offensive guard with starters Ben Powers and Quinn Meinerz. But Powers is entering a contract year in 2026. Denver is likely to seek his eventual replacement in the draft. Pregnon is extremely durable and experienced with 52 starts over his college career, which began at the University of Wyoming. He is especially strong at 6-4, 314 pounds, and would be a strong developmental piece.

Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Texas

The Broncos have a plethora of linebackers to consider in the draft. Hill stuffed the stat sheet over three seasons at Texas — 31.5 tackles for loss, 17 sacks and eight forced fumbles — to prove he can impact every phase of the game. Hill was a finalist for the Butkus Award given to the nation’s top linebacker. He’s got elite length standing at 6-2, 238 pounds. Hill has the tools to diagnose a play quickly and blow up the ball carrier.
