Thornton police investigating homicide after body found during welfare check
Thornton police are investigating a homicide after a body was found during a welfare check.
Police said officers responded at about 10:30 a.m. Friday to a residence in the 1900 block of West 101st Avenue to check on the wellbeing of a woman who had not been seen or heard from for several days. Upon entering the residence, the woman was found dead.
The death is being investigated as a homicide, police said, and is believed to have happened as early as 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Police did not identify the woman, and said her identity will be released by the Adams County Coroner after positive identification and next of kin notification.
