Work around Civic Center to impact downtown Denver traffic
Work around downtown Denver’s Civic Center may have an impact on traffic this weekend.
Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is working on several street improvement projects in the downtown area. Starting Saturday morning and running until Sunday night, 14th Street between Court Place and Colfax Avenue will be closed as crews work to demobilize a hoist supporting renovations at the Wellington E. Webb building.
Drivers seeking an alternate route can take Tremont Place to Colfax or take Court Place to Broadway.
Additionally, crews are working to replace a section of stormwater infrastructure on Colfax, which requires the closing of two eastbound lanes between Cherokee and Lincoln Streets, leaving one lane open. That work began at 7 p.m. on Friday and will last until Monday at 5 a.m.
Two lanes on southbound Broadway will also be closed to support that work, but the far lefthand lane is expected to reopen midday Saturday.
