Denver weather: Sunny and 60s after big spring storm
Say goodbye to all that snow as it melts away under the bright May sun.
The National Weather Service said to expect a high of 69 on Thursday with moderate winds and mostly sunny skies.
The sudden turnaround in temperatures comes right after Denver was dumped with a blanket of snow, accumulating up to 8 inches in some metro areas.
Forecasters say that the high May sun angle is able to warm the area back up rapidly. This will mean that a chilly morning is in store for Denver, but as the sun gets high in the sky, temperatures will skyrocket by the hour.
In fact, the Denver area is still on a freeze warning as leftover moisture may have frozen overnight. The weather service urges caution during residents’ morning commute. The freeze warning will be over after 8 a.m.
Temperatures will return to near seasonal averages today across the region. Expect some cloud cover building through the day, with a few showers late afternoon/evening mainly for the mountains and northern plains. #COwx pic.twitter.com/zagudLob2S

The warm temperatures seem to be here to stay as the rest of the week shows mid to low 70s, with next week possibly nearing the 90s.
Tonight, expect a low of around 41 degrees and slightly gusty winds.
