As the season changes to spring, wildflowers bloom over Colorado’s mountains, covering the state in colorful scenery.

The online casino Spinblitz recently revealed its global ranking of the best “flower-filled destinations on Earth,” and a mountain town in Colorado ranked highly on the list.

To create the list, the Spinblitz team examined a variety of factors that included “flower vibrancy, popularity, reviews, and picture-worthiness.” Each place was then assigned an overall score and ranked.

Crested Butte ranked as the top spot to see wildflowers in the U.S., and placed ninth on the worldwide list. The mountain town offers a perfect place to view wildflowers in the stunning Rocky Mountains. According to Travel + Leisure and the Gunnison Crested Butte website, some of the best spots to find beautiful wildflowers are Kebler Pass, Mt. Crested Butte, and the Walrod Cutoff Trail in Cement Creek. Some other great locations include Fossil Ridge, Cement Mountain, and West Maroon Pass, as well as Slate River Valley, Cement Creek, and Brush Creek.

According to Travel + Leisure, the mountain town’s popularity on social media, with 429,000 Instagram mentions, helped it secure a spot among the top ten locations. Travel + Leisure also said that Crested Butte was the only U.S. destination that made the global list.
