Gun magazine forces evacuation of Frontier flight
Passengers and crew were deplaned and rescreened Sunday night, according to Frontier Airlines.
DENVER — A Frontier Airlines flight was evacuated Sunday night due to an “ammunition magazine” found on the plane, according to the airline.
Frontier flight 4765 was scheduled to depart Denver International Airport on Sunday at about 8 p.m. and arrive in Phoenix, Arizona, according to information from FlightAware.com.
After the magazine was discovered, the passengers and crew were deplaned and rescreened as a precaution, Frontier Airlines said. The aircraft also went through a security sweep and no additional threats were found, according to the airline. Because of the time delay, the flight crew had exceeded their duty time and the flight was rescheduled for Monday morning, Frontier said.
Flight 4765 resumed service at about 6 a.m. MDT Monday and arrived in Phoenix at about 6:50 a.m. MST.
