Mountain town turns to new type of recreation amid marina operation changes during dry year
The town of Frisco has announced the addition of two new recreational sand volleyball courts at the Frisco Bay Marina beach and the launch of a recreation sand volleyball league.
According to a press release from the Frisco Bay Marina, the new courts are set to open in June with the launch of the league. The courts will be available for rent from dawn to dusk when not being used by the league, and balls will also be available for rent. The public will be able to use the courts if they are not rented or being used for league play.
“This is an exciting addition to the Frisco Bay Marina experience,” said Logan Snyder, Frisco Bay Marina General Manager, in the press release. “The new courts and summer leagues create another way for our community to connect, stay active, and enjoy Frisco’s incredible outdoor setting.”
The addition is coming during a dry season, with the public boat ramp at Frisco Bay Marina being closed. However, according to the town of Frisco, The Island Grill will open on May 22 and the marina set to open on May 29.
