Commerce City Police started a pursuit of robbery suspects that ended in a crash at North Pecos Street near Interstate 70.

DENVER — Three people were taken to the hospital after a pursuit and crash early Monday morning.

Overnight, two groups of people in two vehicles had robbed several individuals at gunpoint and knifepoint outside a residence in the 6100 of Oneida Street, according to Commerce City Police Department officers.

While officers were in the area to interview victims, the suspects returned, police said. Officers tried to stop the suspects, but they drove away and officers began a pursuit, according to police.

The chase continued onto Interstate 70, where one suspect vehicle crashed into a retaining wall after exiting at North Pecos Street in Denver, police said.
