Driver killed after stolen motorcycle collides with SUV in Aurora
A man was killed late Saturday in a collision involving a stolen motorcycle and an SUV at an intersection in Aurora, authorities said.
Officers responded about 11:49 p.m. to a report of a crash near East Iliff Avenue and South Idalia Street. According to a preliminary investigation, a stolen motorcycle was traveling westbound on East Iliff Avenue when a Honda CR-V heading eastbound turned north onto South Idalia Street and collided with the motorcycle.
The adult male driver of the motorcycle and an adult female passenger were taken to area hospitals. The man was later pronounced dead. The woman remains in stable condition, police said.
The driver of the Honda CR-V fled the scene, but the vehicle was found a short distance away unoccupied. No one was in custody as of Sunday.
Investigators said the crash remains under investigation.
