Colorado resort set to open terrain park for summer skiing and snowboarding
Skiers and snowboarders in Colorado don’t have to put skill development on pause during the summer season thanks to a program put on by Summit County’s Copper Mountain.
“Copper Mountain continues its commitment to year-round on-snow experiences with the return of summer operations at Woodward Copper,” reads a press release from the resort. “By farming snow from the 22-foot superpipe, Copper is able to build and maintain the Summer Hike Park,” which features a variety of rails.
Copper’s Summer Hike Park is set to open on June 5 and it’s pretty affordable at just $25 for a day pass for $249 for the full season. It will be operational Thursdays through Sundays as long as conditions permit. Last year, the Hike Park closed in early-September.
In 2025, Copper’s Summer Hike Park was spread across roughly four acres of land. It’s located in the Center Village area and will also be where nine weeks of on-snow training camp takes place. While eight weeks will cater to youth, there will be one week dedicated to adults 18 and older.
It’s also worth noting that Copper’s Woodward Barn will open for indoor training on weekends, starting June 5.
