Colorado basketball adds ‘sleeper’ Amir Jones from California | Colorado Sunshine
Where good news shines
Colorado basketball added a guard from California.
That often turns out well for the Buffs.
Amir Jones, a 6-foot-3 guard from Harvard-Westlake High in Studio City, Calif., signed a financial aid agreement to join the CU program for the 2026-27 season, Buffs coach Tad Boyle said Thursday.
K.J. Simpson, Cory Higgins, Spencer Dinwiddie and Isaiah Johnson became star players in Boulder after arriving from California. Jones averaged 12 points, five rebounds and four assists as a high school senior and helped Harvard-Westlake to a 27-7 record and No. 3 state ranking.
“Amir is the epitome of the term ‘sleeper,’” Boyle said. “His ability to defend on and off the ball, as well as shoot it, makes him an ideal Colorado Buffalo.”
