Multiple Colorado hot springs in the running for “best in the U.S.”
Soaking in hot springs helps boost blood circulation, reduce stress, and alleviate skin conditions, according to USA Today. In Colorado, hot springs often come with stunning mountain views.
USA Today 10Best’s competition for the best hot springs is underway, and five Colorado hot springs have been nominated.
USA Today 10Best is a readers’ choice awards program that highlights the best in the country’s destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. An expert panel nominates their top picks and readers vote to determine the ten winners in each category.
Readers can vote once per day for their favorite hot springs until voting ends on Monday, June 29 at noon. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, July 8.
The first Colorado hot springs nominated is Avalanche Ranch, located in Redstone. The hot springs features three tiered outdoor soaking pools fed by a natural geothermal springs, and guests can also enjoy a stay in cabins at the ranch.
Next up is Durango Hot Springs Resort & Spa, located near the San Juan Mountains in Durango. It features more than 40 water amenities including 32 soaking pools, cold plunges, Japanese-inspired cedar soaking tubs, and a resort-style swimming pool.
Glenwood Hot Springs Resort was also nominated. The resort is located in Glenwood Springs and is home to the world’s largest outdoor mineral hot springs pool, a diving board, swimming lanes, and even waterslides.
The Iron Mountain Hot Springs, another resort in Glenwood Springs, was nominated as well. The hot springs is tucked into the banks of the Colorado River, with 35 soaking pools and an adults only WorldSprings area.
The final Colorado location that was nominated is The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs. Located in Pagosa Springs, the resort offers 24-hour access to about 50 mineral pools with ranging temperatures, and lodging with complimentary access to unique wellness activities like aqua yoga and balancing sound immersion.
