Evacuations lifted for Spring Creek Fire

Evacuations for the Spring Creek Fire in Eagle County were lifted on Saturday at 9 a.m., according to an alert from Eagle County.

Road closures are still in place, and only residents and public safety traffic are allowed, according to a post from the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) on Saturday morning.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, the firefighters are still working on the 20-acre fire, and the fire is currently 40% contained. Because of significant firefighter activity in the area, the White River National Forest is delaying the seasonal opening of the Eagle-Thomasville Road (NFSR 400) and Burnt Mountain Road (NFSR 506) for two additional days until June 16.
