Aurora firefighters rescue dog from deadly house fire
One person died in a residential fire Sunday, according to Aurora Fire Rescue.
Firefighters responded to the 18600 block of E. Bates Circle around 10 p.m. They brought the fire under control.
During fire suppression operations, crews located an adult inside the home and determined the person was deceased.
Firefighters also rescued a dog from the residence and transported the animal to a veterinary hospital for treatment.
Another adult resident was displaced by the fire, officials said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation. Aurora Fire Rescue said no additional updates are expected overnight.
Officials have not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
