RTD plans bus shuttles for A Line maintenance shutdown at Denver airport
The Regional Transportation District will suspend A Line commuter rail service between Denver International Airport and 61st-Peña stations on Sunday for track maintenance.
Bus shuttles will replace trains during the work window from about 5:25 a.m. to 1:12 p.m. Regular A Line service will continue between Denver Union Station and 61st-Peña Station.
Customers should plan for delays and allow extra time for airport connections, RTD officials said in a statement. The shuttles will not follow regular train schedules.
Boarding locations are: Denver Airport Station at Arrivals Gate 6 and Departures Gate 7 in the DEN Transit Center, Level 1, adjacent to the Westin Denver International Airport Hotel; and 61st-Peña Station in front of the station.
The maintenance work is intended to improve the line’s reliability and safety, according to an RTD news release. Rail service to the airport will resume after the work is complete. The first train with continuous service to Denver Airport Station is scheduled to depart Union Station at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. The first train with continuous service to Union Station is expected to leave Denver Airport Station at about 1:27 p.m. Sunday.
RTD encourages customers to check the agency’s Service Disruptions webpage and use the Next Ride web app for trip planning and service alerts.
