Denver weather: High temperatures with windy, smoky skies

Even Denver will feel and see the effects of Colorado’s multiple wildfires this week.

The National Weather Service said to expect a high of around 91 degrees with winds up to 33 miles per hour. Expect patches of smoke visible in the afternoon.

The smoke is coming from both Utah and Colorado wildfires, as tens of thousands of acres continue to burn near the western border of the state.

The entire western half of the state is under a red flag warning due to the continued dry, warm and windy conditions. Denver and the eastern half of the state remain under fire watch, but have yet to receive the red flag warning.

A few strong storms may be possible in the northeastern part of the state in the late afternoon.

The heat and dry conditions appear to be here to stay throughout the week from Denver onward to the west, however.

Tonight, expect a high of around 56 degrees with smoke to clear around 10 p.m. and for the wind to continue to blow.
