Missing 63-year-old veteran found dead in creek

Kevin Bailey, a 63-year-old man and United States Air Force veteran, was found deceased in a creek on June 26, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO).

According to the ACSO, Bailey had been missing since June 12 when he left the Woodland Estates Senior Living Center at 2500 S. Roslyn St., where he lived. He told an employee that he wanted to ride the bus and visit friends, and told family members that he was riding a bus and looking for work. Investigators found information that indicated that Bailey was in the Denver metro area on the evening of June 12.

The ACSO expanded its search for Bailey on June 25. Investigators, members of the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol and two search-and-rescue dogs conducted a search in Denver’s Central Park area where Bailey was last known to be. The discovery of evidence by search teams led investigators to return to the area the next day.

On June 26, members of the Denver Fire Water Rescue Team and ACSO investigators found a deceased individual in a creek. The Denver Medical Examiner’s Office identified the remains as those of Kevin Bailey on July 1.

Condolences go out to Bailey’s family and loved ones.
