Former jiujitsu instructor arrested for alleged sexual assault of minors
Loveland police on Friday arrested a jiujitsu instructor on allegations he sexually assaulted students.
Loveland Police Department officers arrested Alexander Hawkeye Martinez after multiple allegations surfaced of sexual assault, according to a LPD news release.
Martinez, 29, knew the victims through his job as a caregiver and is suspected to have other victims from his former job as an instructor at Infinite Jiu-Jitsu Academy, which is now closed.
“The courage displayed by these young victims cannot be overstated,” Lt. Heather Moore of the LPD Criminal Investigations Division said in the release. “Their willingness to speak up made this investigation possible. I want to recognize the dedication of our investigators and thank the District Attorney’s Office for its continued partnership and support.”
Martinez was booked into the Larimer County Jail on the following charges, according to the news release: two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and aggravated sex offense.
Additional information or similar incidents involving Martinez should be reported to the Loveland Police Department Tip Line at (970) 962-2032 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at (970) 221-6868.
