Cyclist killed after being struck by semitrailer in Fort Collins
A woman was killed Monday evening after being hit by a semitrailer while riding her bicycle near downtown Fort Collins, according to Fort Collins police.
The woman, still unidentified, was found by officers at about 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of East Mulberry and Whedbee streets in response to a 911 call. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fort Collins Police Department officers report that the truck driver remained at the scene following the fatal crash.

The investigation, still ongoing, was taken over by the FCPS Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling team due to the nature of the incident.
“This was a traumatic incident for not only those involved, but also those who witnessed the scene,” said Sgt. David Lindsay in the release. “Our investigators are working to get answers for all those involved, and our victim advocate team has responded to help provide assistance.”
