Wildfire sparks on pass near Steamboat Springs

A wildfire broke out on Rabbit Ears Pass near Steamboat Springs on Sunday.

According to reporting from Denver 7, evacuations have not been ordered but campers and hikers have been asked to prepare for the order.

The blaze, dubbed the Fishhook Fire, is estimated at 8 acres, according to Denver 7. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue posted saying that they are aware of the smoke on Rabbit Ears Pass. Since the incident is in National Forest, the U.S. Forest Service will respond and oversee the incident.
