The Switchbacks’ next opponent in the Prinx Tires USL Cup has been revealed and it’s a familiar face.

Colorado Springs will travel to Spokane Velocity FC on Aug. 12 for the Cup quarterfinals, the team announced on Monday. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.

This will be the second meeting between the clubs this season despite the Switchbacks playing in the USL Championship and Spokane playing in USL League One.

Colorado Springs ousted Velocity FC from the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on April 1, advancing with a 4-2 penalty shootout win at Weidner Field in the second round of the tournament. The teams were tied at a goal apiece after regulation and extra time.

Spokane and Colorado Springs are two of the seven teams that won their group in the Prinx Tires USL Cup. The clubs are joined by San Antonio FC, Louisville City FC, Hartford Athletic, Charlotte Independence and the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Miami FC is the lone wild card team to advance to the knockout stage.

The Switchbacks tied with Tampa Bay for the highest point total in the group stage with 12 off a perfect 4-0 record.
